  • Will this prepare my child for kindergarten?
Yes! Our 3s and 4s classrooms are thoughtfully designed to prepare children for kindergarten in every way. Each day includes age-appropriate lessons in math, science, literacy, art, music, and movement—focused on both academic growth and creative expression. Beyond academics, we help children build the confidence, independence, and social skills they need to thrive in a classroom setting. Many of our families have shared how well-prepared their children felt when starting kindergarten, and we’re honored to play a part in that transition!
  • How do you ensure the safety of children?
Your child’s safety is our top priority. Every classroom is staffed with two trained adults at all times, and all teachers and aides are CPR and First Aid certified. Our team is also trained in classroom safety, emergency procedures, and mandatory reporting. The building stays securely locked during program hours, and each classroom is equipped with a security camera. In addition, our on-site Director actively monitors classrooms and maintains open communication with staff and parents to ensure a safe, supportive environment every day.
  • What is your student/teacher ratio?
At Fellowship Parents Day Out, we prioritize small, age-appropriate class sizes less than the Tennessee state guidelines for early childhood education to ensure every child gets the care and attention they need. Each class is led by a teacher and an aide, with the following maximum group sizes: 1-year-olds: 6 children 2-year-olds: 10 children 3-year-olds: 12 children 4-year-olds: 13 children
  • What does the curriculum/program look like?
Fellowship PDO offers four age-based classrooms: 1s, 2s, 3s, and PreK. Each class is thoughtfully designed to meet children where they are developmentally, using a play-based approach that encourages learning, creativity, and joy. 1s and 2s focus on introduction—helping little ones adjust to a group setting, build early social skills, and explore through music, movement, guided play, and sensory activities. 3s and 4s focus on mastery—gently preparing students for kindergarten through individualized lessons in early literacy, math, science, and art, while also building confidence, independence, and classroom readiness. Every class also includes age-appropriate Bible time, where children hear simple truths about God’s love through songs, stories, and prayer. Our goal is to nurture both a love for learning and a foundation of faith.
  • Do you give tours?
Yes, you can schedule a tour by calling (931) 920-0127 during office hours or emailing pdo@fellowshipumc.com.
  • What if I'm running late or need to pick up early?
We understand that life happens! If you’re running late for drop-off or need to pick your child up early, just let us know as soon as possible by calling or texting the Director on the Lillio app. We’ll make sure your child is ready and cared for during the transition. For the safety of all students, please come to the designated entrance and a staff member will assist you. Consistent communication helps us keep the day running smoothly!
  • Can I bring treats for the class to celebrate my child's birthday?
Yes! We love celebrating birthdays—it’s such a special moment for young children. Parents are welcome to send in a store-bought treat to share during snack or lunchtime. Planning a party outside of PDO? Invitations may be handed out only if every child in the class is included to ensure no one feels left out.
